On the road to Yosemite – September 15, 2010

Due to some technical difficulties, i.e. no cell phone, wi-fi, or internet service anywhere in the park, posts will be hit or miss and may consist of one or more days.

We were up at 6:00am and out the door by 7:30a.m. (ok, we had to turn around once to get something we forgot); on the road by 7:50a.m. We ate breakfast in Weed and then met up with I-5 for the majority of our drive. About 11:00a.m., when the temperature started to reach 75 or so, Scott decided to turn on the air conditioning. About an hour later, with the AC on high and nothing happening, we decided that we either needed to do something about it or be ready to face the next ten days with no AC. We googled and found a Hyundai dealership in Sacramento. After an inspection, they determined that the AC was broke and it would take two-three hours to fix. What should we do at that point???

We sat in the waiting area with all the other people getting their cars worked on. By 3:30p.m., we were back on the road and headed to Yosemite.

We made here and got checked in. I don’t have many pictures from tonight because of it being dark, but I will take some tomorrow in the daylight.

One exciting thing, we are staying at the Wawona hotel and the lady at check-in said that we had a very historic room. She said that Wawona Washburn was born in our room. I’m not really sure who that is, but I wanted to ask if they had changed the sheets, but thought that maybe we should sound interested instead. I will do more research and get back to you on this one.
