Day Twelve

We left Charleston this morning and headed to Folly Beach, one of the few public beaches in South Carolina. Don't be fooled by the pictures. By 9:00 am this morning it was 80 degrees. The water was so warm and the sand was beautiful. We had a really hard time leaving. We could have spent all day.

We then headed to the Drayton Hall Plantation. This place was amazing. The house was from 1738 and is maintained to the way it was when the historical society took over it. We got to tour the entire house and then were on our own to walk around the grounds. Very interesting!

We stopped off at Jekyll Island in Georgia to get one last look at the Atlantic Ocean. Again, it was over 90 degrees and the water was awesome! Now I understand how people could spend all day at the beach. We hit Jacksonville Florida and turned West. We are offically on our way back. That is to say that we still have half of our vacation in front of us.

I can't remember the last time I was at the beach and I wanted to play in the water.

I felt like a kid!

Drayton Hall Plantation. If you click on the picture and make it bigger, you might be able to find the alligator that lives in the pond. (It's a good thing that Scott found it before he went any farther!)

We put our toes in water and in the sand.
Fun in the Sun!

All that was left of us at Jekyll Island.

Have there been any flood warnings around you guys? Oh ya didn't know I could enlarge the photos in you blog-thanks for the heads up!!
