40 x 40 - 16. Buy Flowers at a Roadside Flower Stand for No Specific Reason

We were on our way home from Albany today when we started passing signs for the Dexter Sunday Market.  It's smart of them to have this on Sundays since most people are heading home from a busy weekend.  We pulled in hoping to find some fresh berries.

We did find some berries.  We also found some various tomatoes.  Add this to the list of things that I miss since moving to the east side of the cascades.  Gardeners in the Willamette Valley are already harvesting tomatoes, squash, zucchini, and all sorts of berries.  We have a lot of tomatoes, but I have a feeling it's going to be a couple more weeks before they start to ripen.

The last booth at the market had bouquets of flowers.  On a whim I decided to buy one, for no specific reason.  The guy working at the booth was really trying hard to sell us on these.  He had them marked $9.00 each.  Scott asked him if he grew the flowers himself.  He said that his wife actually bought them from a farm in Eugene, for $9.00 a bouquet.  He only had an hour left at the market so he was willing to make us a deal.  Neither of us said anything, as both of us we fine with paying the full asking price.  As Scott got his wallet out, and I picked out the perfect bouquet, the guy said, "oh, all right, I'll go $5.00".  He was totally negotiating with himself.  I really think that if we would have stalled for 30 more seconds, he would have just given them to us.

So now I can check #16 off the list. (And we get to enjoy fresh flowers for the week!)
